What can you do on this portal?

Planning Division

Through this portal, you can:

• Apply for various Planning permits such as:

  • Development Plan Reviews

  • Site Plan Reviews

  • Use Permits

  • Tentative Tract/Parcel Maps

  • Sign Plan Reviews

  • Home Occupation Permits

  • Other Planning-related entitlements

• Submit drawings and required documents for review

• Look up pending applications and issued permits

• Review and download application forms and submittal requirements

• Pay permit fees online

Important Notice:

If all required submittals are not received and fees are not paid in full within 48 hours, the application will be automatically cancelled.

Before You Apply:

PRIOR TO APPLYYING FOR A PLANNING PERMIT, PLEASE CONTACT THE PLANNING DIVISION AT (714) 993-8124 TO DISCUSS YOUR PROJECT AND CONFIRM THE APPROPRIATE PERMIT TYPE(S).

Building & Safety Division

General Information:

To apply for a permit or request an inspection through the portal, you must first sign up for an account. If you already have one, please log in to proceed.

Permit Applications:

To apply for a building permit:

• Click the purple "Apply" button on the next screen

• Follow the prompts to complete your application

Note: Not all building permits types are currently available for online submittal. Additional types will be aded over time.

Inspection Requests:

• Only individuals listed on the issued permit can request inspections

• You must sign up using the same information provided at the time of permit issuance

• The general contractor, owner-builder, or an authorized representative must:

  • Ensure all work is complete prior to the inspection

  • Be present to walk with the inspector during the inspection

  • Coordinate with subcontractors to address any corrections

Re-Inspections may be scheduled after all corrections have been made. Ensure your structure is clearly marked with a visible address.

Access Code (Optional):

During sign-up, you may be asked for an Access Code. This is provided by the Building & Safety Counter and is linked to your individual contact record in our system.

Note: 

THE ONLINE PERMIT CENTER IS CURRENTLY IN ITS BETA TESTING PHASE FOR THE BUILDING & SAFETY DIVISION. WHILE CERTAIN FEATURES MAY BE VISIBLE ONLINE, ALL BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATIONS MUST STILL BE SUBMITTED IN PERSON AT PLACENTIA CITY HALL UNTIL FULL TESTING IS COMPLETE AND THE SYSTEM IS FULLY OPERATIONAL.
